09 May The #1 Goal of Digital Marketing -Trust!

In this episode of “The Marketing Nerdz Podcast“, “Karan Dharamsi“, CEO of The Marketing Nerdz talks about one of the most important “Goals of Marketing“.

There are a lot of definitions out there when it comes to describing the number 1 goal of marketing.
For some, the job of Marketing is to create awareness amongst the customers, for some it is to sell and promote your products and services to your target audience and for some, it is simply to connect and reach out to a huge number of potential audience.

1 Goal of Marketing Trust

However, here’s something that marketers often forget or ignore when it comes to deciding the # 1 goal of marketing.

“Trust” is the #1 goal of Marketing if you want to build a strong, loyal base of customers.

Karan goes on to explain this point further with a very interesting example of marriage, how approaching your target audience with a marketing message is very similar to approaching a person you like to marry you!

Yes, it may sound crazy but there are a lot of similarities, and along with likability and other factors, trust is that one important factor that decides if the person would marry you (in this case, engage with your business) or not!

When you first approach your prospective customer with your marketing message, they are finding various factors and points that they can trust you for, making sure they would not have a bad experience with you or your product and services as in the past with some other purchase.

Hence, here’s what your # 1 Goal of Marketing should be, at every step and stage of communication with your target audience:

  • Build the trust amongst your audience at every step of your marketing funnel
  • Enhance that trust further, with every communication with your audience

With all of your marketing strategies and communication, you are either building the trust with your audience or killing it. Though it is a KPI which is non-measurable, it is highly crucial to consider it while evaluating your marketing campaigns. Trust amongst the target audience has a huge impact in terms of converting your leads into clients.

Make sure you re-check and re-evaluate your entire marketing funnel to add elements in your communication which will help you gain and build the trust amongst your target audience. Make your customers feel comfortable, give them what they want and you will eventually gain their loyalty if you successfully build the trust. This is one of the most crucial factors that decides whether or not a potential customer will invest in your business!

So here are the 2 things you need to ask yourself before starting out any marketing campaign, to ensure you meet the # 1 Goal of Marketing:

  • What are you doing at every stage to Build that Trust
  • What else can you do to Enhance that Trust

This # 1 Marketing goal will help you grow your business and expand at the desired rate, ensuring you build a happy and loyal customer base for everything that you offer!
